What Makes a Great Wardrobe

More Than Storage A Room Within a Room

A great wardrobe is not simply a place to hang clothes. It is a precision-built system that makes your morning routine effortless, your bedroom visually calm, and your belongings genuinely organised — for every category of item, at exactly the right height, in exactly the right place. Done well, a wardrobe defines the entire character of a bedroom.

At Velora, we approach every wardrobe as a bespoke project — measuring your room to the millimetre, mapping your wardrobe contents in detail, and designing a fully custom solution that maximises storage, suits your aesthetic, and is built with the quality of hardware and materials that ensures it performs flawlessly for a decade or more.

Built to Your Exact Dimensions (1)

Built to Your Exact Dimensions

Every wardrobe we build is measured and fabricated to the exact dimensions of your room — using every centimetre of available height, width, and depth, eliminating dead space and dust-collecting gaps that off-the-shelf wardrobes always leave behind.

Intelligent Internal Organisation (1)

Intelligent Internal Organisation

We map your wardrobe contents — long hang, short hang, folded, shoes, accessories, bags — and design the internal layout around what you actually own, creating a system where everything has a home and is immediately visible and accessible.

Premium Finishes & European Hardware (1)

Premium Finishes & European Hardware

Acrylic, PU lacquer, laminate, wood veneer, glass, and mirror shutters — paired with Blum or Hettich soft-close hinges, precision sliding systems, and push-to-open mechanisms that make every interaction with your wardrobe feel satisfyingly premium.

What We Design & Build

Every Component of Your Wardrobe, Perfected

A custom wardrobe is a complex system where every component — from the carcass material to the final handle choice — determines how it looks, performs, and lasts. We design and execute every element with the same care and precision that goes into any fine piece of furniture.
Carcass Structure & Shutter Design (1)

01

Carcass Structure & Shutter Design

Moisture-resistant BWP or marine-grade plywood carcasses, precision-cut and edge-banded — fitted with your chosen shutter finish in acrylic, PU, laminate, veneer, mirror, or glass, all aligned to millimetre-perfect tolerances.

Internal Organisation & Drawers (1)

02

Internal Organisation & Drawers

Custom internal layouts with hanging rails at dual heights, adjustable shelving, tandem soft-close drawer systems, shoe sections, loft storage, and accessory organisers — all designed around a detailed audit of your actual wardrobe contents.

Walk-In Wardrobe & Dressing Rooms (1)

03

Walk-In Wardrobe & Dressing Rooms

Full dressing room design — open shelving walls, island units, full-length mirrors, integrated seating benches, accent lighting, and a curated palette that makes the dressing room a destination room rather than just a storage space.

Sliding Door Systems & Tracks (1)

04

Sliding Door Systems & Tracks

Premium aluminium sliding track systems with soft-close end buffers, anti-jump guides, and smooth-glide nylon rollers — specified to carry door weights up to 80kg per panel without sag or misalignment over years of daily use.

Wardrobe Lighting Integration (1)

05

Wardrobe Lighting Integration

Sensor-activated LED strips inside hanging sections, shelf backlighting, mirror surround lighting, and ambient cove lighting above the wardrobe — a complete lighting plan that makes your wardrobe look spectacular and performs brilliantly in early morning use.

Hardware, Handles & Finishing Details (1)

Hardware, Handles & Finishing Details

Recessed J-pulls, integrated profile handles, finger-pull grooves, or statement bar handles — coordinated in matte black, brushed gold, chrome, or gunmetal to tie the wardrobe into the bedroom's overall hardware and fixture palette.

Why Choose Velora

The Velora Difference

Content-First Design

Before we draw a single shelf line, we map what you own. Every hanging section, drawer, and shoe shelf is sized around your actual wardrobe contents — not a generic template.

Zero Wasted Space

We build to your exact wall dimensions — floor to ceiling, wall to wall — eliminating every gap and void. Your wardrobe uses every centimetre your room provides.

European Hardware Quality

Blum and Hettich hinges, Grass drawer systems, and precision aluminium sliding tracks — hardware that makes every door and drawer feel premium on the ten-thousandth open as much as the first.

End-to-End Build

Design, fabrication, delivery, installation, and final adjustment — all managed by us, all under one warranty, all delivered with a quality check before we sign off and leave.

Our Process

How We Design & Build Your Perfect Wardrobe

01

Site Measurement & Wardrobe Audit

We measure your room and existing wall space to the millimetre — and conduct a detailed wardrobe content audit, categorising what you own by hanging type, folded items, shoes, and accessories so the design is built around your actual storage needs, not estimates.

02

Type Selection & Layout Design

We recommend the most suitable wardrobe type for your space and present a detailed layout plan — showing every external dimension, door configuration, and internal organisation section for your review and approval before any fabrication begins.

03

3D Visualisation & Finish Selection

Photorealistic 3D renders of your wardrobe in your actual bedroom — showing the chosen finish, door style, handle, and lighting accurately so you can see and approve the final result before we begin production.

04

Factory Fabrication

Every carcass, shelf, drawer, and door panel is precision-fabricated in our workshop — cut, edged, finished, and quality-checked before leaving for your home, ensuring a fast and clean on-site installation with minimal disruption.

05

Installation, Lighting & Final Handover

On-site assembly, door alignment, drawer calibration, lighting connection, and a detailed quality walkthrough — your wardrobe is handed over perfectly adjusted, fully lit, and ready for the first morning's use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About Wardrobe Design

The primary decision factor is the floor clearance in front of your wardrobe. Sliding doors require zero swing clearance and are ideal for bedrooms where the bed, chair, or other furniture is close to the wardrobe face. Hinged doors need roughly 50–60cm of clear space to swing open fully — but in return they provide completely unobstructed access to the entire interior width in a single motion, which many people prefer for visibility. If space allows, hinged is operationally better; if space is tight, sliding is the smarter choice. During your consultation we assess your specific room layout and make the right recommendation.
A functional walk-in wardrobe requires a minimum of approximately 4 feet of aisle width between facing shelving or rail sections — so a room of roughly 6ft x 8ft or larger can accommodate a basic walk-in. For a more comfortable dressing experience with an island unit, seating bench, or full-length mirror, 8ft x 10ft or more is ideal. We design walk-ins from very compact 30 sq ft alcoves to full 300 sq ft dressing suites — the key is expert space planning that makes even a small walk-in feel deliberately designed and beautifully organised.
Laminate is the most durable and lowest-maintenance finish — resistant to scratches, moisture, and fading, and cleanable with a simple wipe. High-gloss acrylic looks stunning but requires more careful cleaning to avoid micro-scratches. PU lacquer offers the most premium feel and is moderately easy to maintain. Wood veneer requires occasional conditioning but ages beautifully. Mirror panels show fingerprints more readily but are easy to clean. We guide every client through the finish that best matches their lifestyle, cleaning habits, and aesthetic preference.
Yes — this is one of the key advantages of a fully custom-built wardrobe over modular off-the-shelf solutions. We regularly build wardrobes to accommodate sloped ceilings, angled walls, alcoves of uneven depth, rooms with structural beams, and spaces with irregular dimensions. Our on-site measurement process captures every irregularity and our workshop fabricates carcasses and panels to fit each unique condition precisely — so the finished wardrobe looks purpose-built for the space, because it genuinely is.
A single bedroom wardrobe typically takes 2–3 weeks from design sign-off to installation — including workshop fabrication and on-site installation time. A walk-in wardrobe or multi-room wardrobe project takes 3–5 weeks. We provide a clear schedule at the start and keep you informed at every stage. On-site installation is typically completed in 1–3 days depending on the scope, with minimal disruption to your home.
